What you'll do

  • Lead AI-enabled image analysis strategies and serve as the primary scientific partner for wet-lab scientists.
  • Translate complex biological questions into rigorous, reproducible, and impactful image analysis workflows.
  • Develop and validate algorithms to characterize cellular, organoid, and tissue phenotypes in high-content imaging data.
  • Implement advanced AI methods including deep learning, vision foundation models, and embedding-based phenotyping.
  • Define benchmarking and evaluation strategies to guide the selection of optimal image analysis methods.
  • Create scalable, reusable image analysis workflows in collaboration with data engineering and platform teams.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts and technical results to non-technical stakeholders and experimental scientists.

What we're looking for

  • PhD in computer science, AI, machine learning, biomedical image analysis, computational imaging, data science, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 3 years of applied experience in AI for bioimaging and computer vision.
  • Experience developing and validating image analysis algorithms for biological, biomedical, or pharmaceutical research applications.
  • Proficiency in Python and the scientific deep learning stack including PyTorch, Hugging Face, Lightning, and MONAI.
  • Hands-on experience with image analysis tools such as scikit-image, OpenCV, napari, Cellpose, StarDist, InstanSeg, and OME-Zarr.
  • Experience working in Linux-based high-performance computing, cloud, or large-scale data processing environments.
  • Ability to design benchmarking and evaluation strategies for evidence-based model selection.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences and experimental scientists.
