Data Governance Systems Designer

What you'll do

• Define and maintain the business glossary, critical data elements, data definitions, and ownership models.
• Document data lineage, metadata, and classification for data products across AWS, Databricks, and SAP.
• Design data quality rules, thresholds, and monitoring requirements with product owners and engineers.
• Apply governance policies for access, classification, and lineage in Databricks Unity Catalog or Collibra.
• Run governance workshops, stewardship forums, and issue-resolution processes with business and IT stakeholders.
• Design and maintain metadata repositories and create data quality reports and dashboards.
• Support compliance, privacy, and audit needs while reporting on key governance metrics.
• Execute communication plans to support the adoption of data governance processes across the organization.

What we're looking for

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree.
• Must be able to travel 4 days per week.
• Must have professional expertise in data governance, data analysis, or data management within complex enterprise environments.
• Must have hands-on experience with Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, and AWS data platforms.
• Must possess expertise in business glossaries, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
• Must have strong SQL and data-profiling skills, with knowledge of data modeling tools like Erwin or ER Studio.
• Must have experience defining and automating data quality rules, monitoring, reporting, and issue management for unstructured and streaming data.
• Must have strong stakeholder facilitation, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
