JOB TITLE: Data Architect, Senior
The Data Architect, Senior joins the team to own the design, governance, and evolution of the enterprise data architecture powering analytics and operational insights. This hands-on technical role involves designing schemas, optimizing queries, and enforcing data governance standards to ensure all production assets are well-modeled, documented, and trustworthy. You will build data solutions using Python and SQL, manage data catalogs, and lead data quality monitoring. Key responsibilities include conducting client-facing data maturity assessments, scoping engagements, and delivering actionable roadmaps for external customers. You will utilize Python data frameworks, SQL for dimensional modeling and normalization, and cloud data platforms. The role solves complex data integrity problems by establishing metadata management, lineage, and access policies within a fast-paced, agile environment to support mission-critical analytics and reporting.
Own the enterprise data model by ensuring all production assets are properly modeled, documented, and governed.
Design and enforce data governance standards including naming conventions, quality controls, and access policies.
Define and maintain the data catalog to ensure all teams can discover and use available data.
Lead data quality monitoring by owning rules, thresholds, and the remediation process for data issues.
Conduct end-to-end client data maturity assessments to deliver actionable recommendations and architectural roadmaps.
Design and build data solutions using Python and SQL to support organizational analytics and reporting.
Evaluate and recommend data tools, storage strategies, and architectural patterns based on cost and benefit analysis.
What we're looking for
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics engineering, including ownership of enterprise or program-level data models.
Experience with SQL, including data modeling, normalization, schema design, query optimization, and working with relational databases and cloud data platforms.
Experience with Python data frameworks for data processing, transformation, and automation.
Experience establishing and enforcing data governance practices, data quality frameworks, metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and access policies.
Experience with project management, including planning and delivering schedule-bound technical engagements or assessments against a statement of work.
Experience designing and governing data architectures in AWS-based environments (preferred).
