Data Architect - Senior serves as the primary expert for data modeling, governance, and architecture to ensure all assets are well-modeled, documented, and trustworthy. You will own the enterprise data model, manage metadata, define quality monitoring rules, and maintain a comprehensive data catalog. This hands-on technical role involves designing schemas, optimizing queries, and building solutions using Python and SQL within an agile environment. Additionally, you will lead client-facing projects by conducting data maturity assessments, evaluating complex systems, and delivering actionable roadmaps to stakeholders. The role requires proficiency in relational databases, cloud platforms, and modern data pipelines to solve problems related to analytics, reporting, and operational insights. Own and manage the enterprise data model, ensuring all production assets are properly modeled, documented, and governed.
Design and enforce data governance standards including naming conventions, quality controls, access policies, and metadata management.
Maintain a comprehensive data catalog to ensure all teams can discover and use available data assets.
Lead data quality monitoring by defining rules, thresholds, and remediation processes for production issues.
Conduct end-to-end client data maturity assessments to provide actionable recommendations and architectural roadmaps.
Design and build technical data solutions using Python and SQL.
Evaluate and recommend data tools, storage strategies, and architectural patterns based on cost and benefit analysis.
What we're looking for
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics engineering including ownership of enterprise or program-level data models.
Experience with SQL for data modeling, query optimization, and working with relational databases and cloud platforms.
Experience with Python data frameworks for data processing, transformation, and automation.
Experience establishing and enforcing data governance practices, quality frameworks, metadata management, and lineage.
Experience with project management to deliver schedule-bound technical engagements or assessments against a statement of work.
Experience in AWS environments, specific AWS services, ETL/ELT processes, and AI/ML workflows (preferred).
