As a D489 Main Propulsion Motor Drive (MPD) Systems Engineer at Electric Boat, you will join the COLUMBIA Integrated Power Systems Engineering team to oversee the development and integration of critical components into the electric drive system for the COLUMBIA Class submarine. Your daily tasks will include managing software architecture design, verifying control system compliance with specifications, supporting testing and troubleshooting at various facilities, and interfacing with government customers and suppliers. You will need a BS or MS in engineering with 0-5 years of experience, proficiency in Microsoft products, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Preferred skills include systems engineering experience, knowledge of control systems and power electronics, software configuration management, and familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink. This role offers significant opportunities for driving supplier deliverables and contributing to the design improvements of future electric propulsion plants.
