JOB TITLE: Cyber Threat Hunter The Cyber Threat Hunter joins the GDIT team to strengthen the cyber defensive posture of the DoDIN-A (NG) in accordance with DoD and Army regulations. This role supports an IT Service Management contract focused on global IT services, including networking, compute, and storage. You will conduct proactive hunts across enterprise networks, endpoints, and datasets to detect malicious activities that evade existing tools. Using the MITRE ATT&CK framework, you will employ threat-intelligence-driven and hypothesis-based techniques to identify missing detection capabilities. Key responsibilities include evaluating cyber risks, investigating network intrusions, and analyzing host, network, and application logs using Elastic and Splunk. You must maintain knowledge of malware functionality, author SOPs and playbooks, and deliver risk analysis reports to senior leadership while ensuring high-quality customer service.

What you'll do

  • Analyze host, network, and application logs using platforms like Elastic or Splunk.
  • Detect and investigate perpetrators of network intrusions and related malicious activities.
  • Develop and deliver risk analysis reports and threat findings to senior leadership.
  • Author and maintain SOPs, playbooks, and work instructions for standardized cyber operations.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of interview.
  • Must hold a baseline certification meeting DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or EC-Council CEH.
  • Must obtain an additional CSSP category certification within six months of hire.
  • Must have 6-8 years of demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or computer science.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Must possess skills in cyber threat hunting, threat detection, cyber security architecture, and cyber risks.
  • Must have experience using logging and analytics platforms such as Elastic or Splunk.
