In this role, you will serve as a Defensive Cybersecurity SME during 24x7 operations, supporting leadership with cyber defense and network assurance issues. Your daily responsibilities include overseeing network defense operations, monitoring alerts and messages, and delivering situational awareness briefings. You will perform critical tasks such as event triage, cyber incident handling, network analysis, threat detection, trend analysis, metric development, and vulnerability information dissemination using the DoD Cyber Security Service Provider methodology. The role requires proficiency in CND processes—Protect, Detect, Respond, and Sustain—and an understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain. Required qualifications include a Security+ CE certification and experience with network threats, attack vectors, and methods of exploitation within a Computer Incident Response organization.
