CPU Product Application Engineer

What you'll do

• Manage technical interactions with key customers to enable the deployment of EPYC CPUs in their systems.
• Support customers during the bring-up and validation of EPYC CPUs using AMD tools and test methods.
• Lead the investigation and root cause analysis for customer-reported hardware and firmware issues.
• Collaborate with customers to develop manufacturing and screen tests to ensure reliability at scale.
• Identify gaps in AMD offerings based on customer requirements and work with stakeholders to resolve them.
• Create design guidelines, technical presentations, and training materials for customers.
• Provide recommendations to improve the overall customer experience with hardware and software products.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in customer-facing roles such as application engineering for Data Center CPUs.
• Strong knowledge of server and data center system architecture and interfaces like DDR, PCIe, SPI/eSPI, and I3C/I2C.
• Strong knowledge of electrical validation and signal integrity of high-speed signals.
• System level debugging skills with hands-on experience in system bring-up, hardware debug, and performance optimizations.
• Experience working with Enterprise Linux environments including Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL, and SLES.
• Knowledge of server firmware/BIOS settings, boot processes, and server monitoring and management software.
• Proficiency in Shell/BASH, C/C++, or Python is a plus.
