JOB TITLE: Corporate Technology - Lead Data Architect The Corporate Technology - Lead Data Architect will join a team focused on consolidating applications into a strategic data lake and defining data standards for the Compliance, Oversight, and Governance businesses. This role involves developing and enhancing data architecture for multiple applications modernizing to cloud-based technologies. Key responsibilities include driving data architecture principles, owning database standards, and designing target state architectures to reduce duplicate data. The architect will define processing patterns for streaming, API, and batch interactions while mentoring junior technologists. Required skills include experience with OLTP and OLAP modeling, cloud databases like Postgres, Cockroach DB, Databricks, or Snowflake, and AWS. Expertise in data governance, data quality, machine learning, and graph databases is also required to solve complex data exchange problems.

What you'll do

Drive data architecture principles and frameworks to strengthen the data environment for the application portfolio.
Own and evolve database standards, including technology choices and sensible defaults for applications.
Design target state data architectures to migrate data to the strategic data lake.
Define data processing patterns and standards for streaming, API, and batch-based interactions.
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for data architecture needs across 100+ applications.
Mentor and coach junior architects and technologists on data modeling, design, and storage.
Write Architecture Decision Records to establish and evangelize the north star vision for data.

What we're looking for

10+ years of related experience in data architecture roles.
Experience with various data modeling techniques and tools related to data across both OLTP and OLAP patterns.
Deep knowledge of data architecture, best practices, and industry trends for modern data needs.
Deep knowledge in one or more cloud based databases, such as Postgres or Cockroach DB, or data lake platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
Proven ability to set standards, write Architecture Decision Records, and evangelize across many application teams.
Broad expertise in data technologies including data processing, data quality, Business Intelligence, unstructured data, and machine learning.
Experience with data governance frameworks, data catalogs, data vocabularies, and data classification needs.
Cloud fundamentals, AWS (preferred) or other public cloud platforms.
