Software Engineer, Reconciliation & Reporting

What you'll do

• Own small, well-bounded projects end-to-end by clarifying requirements, designing, building, testing, and shipping features.
• Build and maintain ingestion and reconciliation pipelines to match card-network reports against internal transaction data.
• Develop scalable reporting products for internal finance teams and external merchants to ensure accurate and timely data.
• Produce standardized journals and summaries to feed downstream accounting, audit, and analysis systems.
• Contribute to large-scale tax and regulatory reporting systems, including US IRS information returns and international regimes.
• Support regulatory and compliance obligations like AML and KYC while securely handling sensitive PII data.
• Debug and escalate production issues across services while providing clear context on changes and remaining risks.
• Replace manual and redundant work with automated solutions to improve system efficiency.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of professional software or data engineering experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience building or maintaining batch- or event-driven data pipelines with exposure to workflow-orchestration technologies.
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, Python, or Go and solid SQL.
• Experience delivering well-scoped projects or features end-to-end including design, build, test, ship, and operate.
• Proficiency in using AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle with the judgment to validate output.
• Exposure to financial, tax, regulatory, or payments reporting and reconciliation products (preferred).
• Familiarity with the payments ecosystem, accounting principles, or cloud data warehouses (preferred).
