What you'll do

  • Architect and implement cloud security guardrails including SCPs, GCP org policies, and IAM controls.
  • Build automation to discover, measure, and contextualize security issues across AWS and GCP.
  • Own the cloud security exception lifecycle by building tools and processes to track requests at scale.
  • Partner with platform teams to develop solutions that permanently eliminate categories of cloud security risk.
  • Develop data pipelines and dashboards to aggregate security signals and track posture trends.
  • Respond to and triage cloud security alerts during on-call rotations to resolve issues quickly.
  • Produce scalable, high-quality software to secure Block's multi-cloud infrastructure.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience as a software or security engineer.
  • 4+ years of experience securing infrastructure running on AWS and/or GCP at scale.
  • Deep experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, including Terraform, SCPs, and GCP org policies.
  • Experience with cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools like Wiz and familiarity with DSPM concepts.
  • Strong understanding of IAM for both AWS (policies, roles, SCPs) and GCP (service accounts, org-level constraints).
  • Experience maturing cloud security posture in large, complex, multi-account/multi-project environments.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development tools in real production work.
  • Experience with Kubernetes security, BI tools like Looker, or network segmentation (preferred).
