As the Compensation Automation & Tooling Specialist at Block's Total Rewards team, you will serve as a technical lead responsible for designing and deploying automated workflows and self-service tools to manage compensation operations for approximately 6,000 employees globally. Your daily tasks include configuring specialized compensation management software, building end-to-end automation for high-volume processes, creating internal mobility calculators, and maintaining Total Rewards dashboards with real-time data visibility. You will also lead the development of AI agents to handle foundational inquiries and ensure strict adherence to data privacy protocols. This role requires expertise in HRIS systems like Workday, proficiency in workflow automation platforms, and experience with technical collaboration tools such as GitHub. Your work will significantly impact how Block's Total Rewards team operates by shifting from manual administration to a scalable technology model.
Design and deploy automation for high-volume compensation processes.
Serve as primary technical administrator for specialized compensation management software.
Build self-service tools for HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders.
Design and maintain Total Rewards dashboards with real-time compensation metrics.
Manage the Total Rewards knowledge base for AI ingestion and end-user use.
Establish data privacy and governance protocols for sensitive compensation data.
What we're looking for
6+ years of experience in HRIS, Compensation Operations, People Analytics, or HR Technology.
Expertise with Workday integrations and other HCM platforms, including workflow automation.
Proficiency in technical collaboration tools like GitHub and guiding non-technical teams.
Strong data modeling and visualization skills for executive dashboards.
Solid understanding of global compensation principles and ability to translate strategy into tech requirements.
Experience partnering with InfoSec, Legal, or Compliance on AI tool governance.
