As a Principal Qualcomm Camera Engineer, you will join a dynamic team at the forefront of imaging technology in mobile devices, automotive systems, XR, IoT, and compute platforms. Your daily responsibilities include researching, designing, developing, verifying, debugging, implementing, and validating complex camera systems, hardware, or firmware tasks such as Image Signal Processor (ISP), 3A algorithms, image quality features, and tuning tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize camera systems and write detailed technical documentation for users and customers. The role requires expertise in C, C++, Python, and a deep understanding of computer architecture and embedded systems, along with extensive experience in Image Signal Processing (ISP) design and verification. Ideal candidates have a master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields, and at least 5 years of programming experience, including leadership roles that involve senior-level interactions.

What you'll do
Leads the research, design, development, verification, debugging, implementation, and validation of complex camera systems.
Decomposes architecture, IQ modules, algorithms, and features to drive hardware development requirements and specifications.
Ensures advanced image quality, system performance, and ISP area and power metrics are met for customer/product needs.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize camera systems, hardware, and software.
Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex Camera projects.
What we're looking for
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years experience in programming (C/C++, Python) and embedded systems.
3+ years experience in Image Signal Processing design and verification.
2+ years experience in camera hardware/systems design and optimization.
Experience working with senior leadership and in technical leadership roles.
