The Business Insights & Analytics Data Engineering Intern joins a dynamic team of data engineering professionals focused on building governed data pipelines and platforms. This role supports marketing, sales, finance, and leadership decision-making by developing production data pipelines and automation practices. You will build and support pipeline components for ingestion, transformation, and validation using Databricks and Delta Lake. Key responsibilities include writing SQL and Python for data extraction, maintaining documentation for data lineage, and ensuring data products are AI-ready for agentic systems like NL2SQL platforms. You will work with technologies including Databricks, Unity Catalog, AWS, Azure, and Git. The work involves solving complex data problems to enable real-time business decisions and reliable analytics within a large-scale healthcare data environment.
Build and support production data pipeline components for ingestion, transformation, and validation on Databricks/Delta Lake.
Write and maintain SQL and Python code for data extraction, cleaning, and transformation tasks.
Develop and execute test cases to validate pipeline outputs and ensure high data quality.
Document data pipelines, schemas, and data lineage to support human and AI agent queries.
Track freshness SLAs, lineage, and quality metrics to make data products ready for agentic AI systems.
Ensure all data usage complies with privacy, governance, and contractual obligations.
What we're looking for
Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Competence in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational data querying.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms like Databricks, AWS, or Azure.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Prior experience using AI tools in an academic, project, or work setting (preferred).
