What you'll do

  • Develop, test, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines using multiple programming languages and platforms.
  • Create automated workflows and front-end tools for data processing and visualization.
  • Design and evaluate innovative computational algorithms and statistical methods for biomedical data.
  • Manage large-scale NGS data while ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, and FDA regulations.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to standard operating procedure updates.
  • Document variant-level changes and participate in assay validation and regulatory inspections.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of job-related experience in an academic or industrial applied research environment in biomedical data analysis.
  • Proficiency in software development using multiple programming languages such as Python and Java.
  • Proficiency with Linux/UNIX based systems, shell scripting, and high-performance computing systems.
  • Proficiency with NGS workflow processes and languages like Cromwell, WDL, or Snakemake.
  • Proficiency with scientific computing and data visualization tools such as MATLAB or R.
  • Experience in a regulated environment under CLIA/CAP and/or FDA guidelines (preferred); 2+ years in large scale NGS operations (preferred).
