TL;DR · Battery Architect

As a Battery Architect within the Battery Management System organization, you will join a multi-functional team to develop future BMS technologies across all battery-based products. You will bridge cross-functional teams to translate product needs into specific requirements for domain teams while establishing long-term roadmaps for hardware, firmware, and algorithms. Key responsibilities include leading the definition of next-generation silicon chipsets, performing architecture decompositions with justified trade-offs, and conducting quantitative value proposition assessments for various technology options. The role requires expertise in battery management solutions using embedded controllers, as well as familiarity with battery chemistries, manufacturing practices, and the interaction between algorithms and hardware/firmware systems. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary architects to ensure scalable solutions and manage the functional decomposition of requirements into specific IC, software, and hardware components for upcoming products.

What you'll do

  • Translate product needs from cross-functional teams into specific requirements for the BMS domain.
  • Define and lead the development of next-generation BMS silicon chipsets.
  • Establish long-term roadmaps covering hardware, firmware, and algorithms.
  • Guide domain teams in developing efficient and scalable technical solutions.
  • Perform architecture decomposition with justified trade-offs between various technology options.
  • Analyze comparative options using quantitative value proposition assessments to resolve complex trade-offs.
  • Develop engineering requirement specifications for BMS systems and functional decomposition into HW, FW, and IC solutions.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a battery, systems, or related architecture role.
  • Experience developing battery management solutions using embedded controllers.
  • MS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
  • Experience with customer interfacing to understand system requirements and define solutions (preferred).
  • Experience in collaborative environments with multiple internal and external technology partners (preferred).
  • Experience developing engineering requirement specifications for BMS systems and functional decomposition into HW, FW, SW, and IC solutions (preferred).
  • Experience working with silicon teams to drive hardware requirements, architecture trade-offs, and design compliance (preferred).
