Backend Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain high-scale, customer-facing web services using Java and Netty frameworks.
• Implement core security features including authentication, authorization, and cryptography standards like AES and X.509.
• Optimize system performance through multithreading, non-blocking IO, and advanced Java performance tuning.
• Manage large-scale data storage and caching using technologies such as Cassandra, Redis, and Memcached.
• Design and maintain scalable APIs while ensuring high availability and reliability for millions of users.
• Implement spam control measures and ensure robust system security across the product lifecycle.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to streamline deployment and operations.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of validated programming experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong Java expertise including Core Java, Multithreading, and non-blocking IO.
• Experience building customer-facing Web services with focus on authentication, authorization, scaling, availability, spam control, and reliability.
• Knowledge of data storage and caching technologies such as Cassandra, Redis, and memcached.
• Proficiency in Java Performance Tuning, scaling Web Services, and API definition.
• Working knowledge of cryptography standards and protocols like PKCS, KMIP, X.509, AES, KDF, and CA.
• Experience with REST services using Netty or similar frameworks, CI/CD tools, and automated testing.
• Knowledge of web programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery (preferred).
• Familiarity with machine learning systems, ML frameworks, libraries, and algorithms (preferred).
• Familiarity with GitHub and deployment tools like Maven, Docker, Spinnaker, and Kubernetes (preferred).
