Associate Systems Software Engineer
The Associate Systems Software Engineer joins the Space Mission Systems Software Team to support the FishTools program. This role involves developing and maintaining a Collection Planning and Mission Management system used by the intelligence community to facilitate the scheduling, analysis, and mission awareness of multiple space imaging platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing software design, coding, and unit, integration, functional, and system testing for user stories while troubleshooting existing applications. The engineer will also analyze high-level customer requirements to derive lower-level functional requirements and present designs to stakeholders. Key technical competencies include experience with Agile or SAFe practices, including sprints and release planning, as well as proficiency with Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence. The role focuses on building distributed components for a multi-tiered system hosted on cloud infrastructure to solve complex imaging operation challenges.
Analyze high-level customer requirements to derive lower-level functional requirements.
Perform detailed software design, coding, and testing for new and existing features.
Troubleshoot and resolve various software issues within the FishTools program.
Develop and sustain multi-tiered web applications on cloud infrastructure.
Create new distributed components that align with future system architecture.
Brief customers and stakeholders on software designs and release functionality.
Execute unit, integration, functional, and system testing to meet acceptance criteria.
What we're looking for
Must possess an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 for export control compliance.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required.
1+ years of experience analyzing data and/or identifying functional and systems requirements with customers.
1+ years of experience in systems engineering including architecture development, integration, and hardware/software design.
1+ years of experience developing presentations and briefing customers.
Familiarity with Agile or SAFe practices, including daily standups, User Stories, Sprints, and Release Planning.
Bachelor of Science in a technical field with 2+ years of related experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience, OR 10+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
