What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated empirical models, including credit scoring and customer behavior scorecards.
  • Use statistical techniques to analyze trends and identify risks or opportunities in portfolio management.
  • Create robust model development datasets using internal and external data sources.
  • Ensure all modeling projects comply with company policies and standard mathematical practices.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into executive-level summary documents for senior management decision-making.
  • Liaise with IT teams to define requirements and ensure timely delivery of data elements.
  • Provide necessary information and documentation to support independent model validation activities.
  • Mentor and oversee the professional development of junior-level statisticians.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in analytics within the financial services industry.
  • Experience with credit scoring models, subprime auto finance, and credit bureau data is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAS (Base, STAT, PROC SQL, Macro) and SQL for data extraction and preparation is required.
  • Knowledge of R programming is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with logistic regression, neural networks, decision trees, and other advanced statistical techniques.
