As an Associate – Cards Strategic Analytics (Credit Risk Strategy), you will join the CCB Risk Cards Strategic Analytics team to develop, implement, and monitor credit risk strategies across the card product lifecycle, including underwriting, account management, and collections. You will perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to translate complex customer behavior and portfolio performance signals into practical policy recommendations and senior-ready insights. Your daily work involves conducting root-cause deep dives, designing monitoring routines, and strengthening operational controls within a compliance-oriented environment. To succeed, you must utilize SQL and at least one analytics tool such as SAS, Python, or R, alongside Excel and PowerPoint for executive storytelling. You will solve critical problems regarding risk appetite and regulatory alignment by analyzing portfolio trends and identifying actionable levers to optimize long-term performance across the credit card lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end quantitative and qualitative analyses to develop and monitor credit risk strategies across the card lifecycle.
  • Translate complex customer behavior and portfolio performance data into actionable policy recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Define problem statements, hypotheses, and success metrics to evaluate risks and trade-offs.
  • Perform root-cause deep dives to diagnose performance shifts and identify levers for improvement.
  • Design monitoring and reporting systems to detect emerging trends in origination quality and portfolio health.
  • Develop and refine credit program policies, procedures, and operational controls.
  • Monitor internal behavioral signals and external regulatory developments to improve risk processes.
  • Create executive-level materials and narratives to secure stakeholder buy-in for new initiatives.

What we're looking for

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, or Econometrics.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in analytics, risk strategy, consulting, business analysis, or related financial/quantitative roles.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to structure ambiguous problems into executable analyses.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one analytics tool or language such as SAS, Python, or R.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including preparing executive-level summaries and PowerPoint storytelling.
  • Maintain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Prior experience in the credit card industry, specifically in credit strategy, policy, underwriting, or portfolio management (preferred).
  • Experience influencing strategy decisions through analytics, including stakeholder alignment and implementation support (preferred).
