The Assoc. Dir, DSCS Digital Technologies, Decision Intelligence (m/f/d) joins the Research team to drive digital transformation and data architecture for Development Sciences and Clinical Supply. This technical role involves developing advanced analytics and operations research capabilities to enable data-driven decision making. You will translate complex business problems into mathematical models, simulation frameworks, and stochastic optimization techniques to solve business process challenges. Key responsibilities include designing scalable data pipelines, developing custom web applications, and implementing agentic AI workflows. You will utilize a technical stack including Python, SQL, Databricks, GitHub, and VS Code. The role focuses on improving clinical supply chain efficiency, manufacturing processes, and CMC development across various modalities by providing interpretable insights and automated decision-making tools for the DSCS organization.
Translate business problems into mathematical models and technical specifications for process simulation and optimization.
Develop and implement probabilistic forecasting and stochastic optimization techniques to support strategic decision-making.
Design and build scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and SQL to create AI-ready data products.
Develop and deploy custom web applications to allow business users to interact with data products and model outputs.
Design, test, and implement agentic AI workflows to automate decision-making processes and generate proactive insights.
Develop business cases and define KPIs to track the value realized through digital transformation initiatives.
Document processes, mathematical models, and system architectures while providing technical training to end-users.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or a PhD with 1+ year of experience in Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, or a comparable technical field.
5+ years of experience in data science, operations research, data engineering, or a related highly technical role.
Experience in pharmaceutical development and/or clinical supply chain.
Strong expertise in Python and experience building and deploying advanced machine learning models.
Proven track record of gathering complex requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translating them into actionable technical roadmaps.
Proficiency with GitHub for version control and experience using AI-assisted development tools like Cline.
Understanding of CMC development across modalities (small molecule, large molecule, vaccine) (preferred).
