As a member of the Multi-Asset Solutions Portfolio Management team at Goldman Sachs, you will drive the MAS data strategy and partner with the Head of PM Infrastructure & AI Strategy to build core platform solutions. Your day-to-day involves working closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Risk teams to profile and map positions, risk, performance, and reference data, improving reliability and prototyping scalable AI-enabled automation for investment workflows. You will own MAS’s data strategy across structured and unstructured data, defining requirements and acceptance criteria for PM Infrastructure & AI initiatives, executing rigorous testing, and creating executive-ready reporting. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of experience in investment management or a related field, with skills in Python scripting, data modeling, and AI/ML concepts. This role is pivotal in shaping how MAS leverages data to enhance investment outcomes and client experiences across public and private markets.

What you'll do

  • Build domain fluency to translate investment workflows into clear data and technology requirements.
  • Own MAS data strategy and governance to improve reliability, reuse, and auditability of structured and unstructured data.
  • Lead end-to-end data discovery and mapping across business functions to close data gaps.
  • Define build-ready requirements for PM Infrastructure & AI initiatives with validation rules and rollout readiness checks.
  • Design rigorous testing and output validation for PM Infrastructure & AI builds to ensure performance benchmarks are met.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities for data and intelligent automation in PM workflows, partnering daily with key stakeholders.
  • Create executive-ready reporting for the Head of PM Infrastructure & AI Strategy on technical progress and risks.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, technical, or finance-related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in investment management or data-focused roles.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and quality frameworks.
  • Experience with Python for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their impact on model performance.
  • Strong communication skills to document processes and present findings effectively.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
