As an Applied Research Intern, NLP - Fall 2026, you will join the Nemotron post-training team to develop and prototype new algorithms and models for AI model post-training. This position requires candidates pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering who can work independently to solve complex problems in the field of large-scale model training.

What you'll do

  • Develop and prototype new algorithms and models for AI model post-training.
  • Contribute to the development of next-generation Nemotron models.
  • Contribute to open-source projects such as NeMo-RL.
  • Design large deep learning systems for natural language processing.
  • Identify and optimize the latest AI algorithms for new vertical markets.
  • Manage and organize large sets of experiments during the research process.
  • Publish results from internship projects in relevant venues.

What we're looking for

  • Pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • A strong publication record is preferred for Master's students.
  • Excellent Python programming skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing.
  • Experience with PyTorch or JAX frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage large sets of experiments.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Contributions to open-source projects are preferred.
