What you'll do

Own end-to-end delivery of AI/ML solutions from initial problem framing and data strategy to production rollout.
Develop and improve Trust & Safety solutions for payment processing, such as fraud prevention and authorization optimization.
Create and implement platform-wide AI/ML strategies within the payments organization.
Define evaluation strategies, success metrics, and robust testing protocols for model performance.
Establish model lifecycle practices including monitoring, drift detection, and incident response to ensure reliable production performance.
Partner with risk and compliance stakeholders to ensure models meet audit requirements and explainability standards.
Drive technical decisions through design reviews, code reviews, and the establishment of engineering standards.
Translate complex model behaviors into decision-ready business impacts for senior stakeholders.

What we're looking for

PhD in applied AI/ML with 5+ years experience or MS in applied AI/ML with 8+ years experience.
Experience building and delivering production machine learning or NLP solutions with measurable outcomes.
Strong programming skills in Python and experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Hands-on experience with document extraction, text classification, information extraction, and NLP techniques.
Experience designing data-driven solutions using SQL and distributed processing tools like Spark.
Experience deploying and operating machine learning services or pipelines in a cloud environment like AWS.
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured machine learning plans and communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders.
Experience with OCR, transformer models, MLOps, real-time architectures, or financial services (preferred).
