Apple Neural Engine Performance and Power Engineer

What you'll do

• Analyze and optimize end-to-end system performance of AI applications across various Apple product platforms.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across both software and hardware architectures.
• Develop and use specialized tools for performance profiling, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Design and implement solutions to improve energy efficiency for generative AI workloads.
• Create performance and power tests for AI workloads in coordination with QA teams.
• Analyze large datasets using statistical methods to provide insights on system performance.

What we're looking for

• BS degree and at least 10 years of experience in system performance analysis.
• Excellent programming skills in C or Python.
• MS or PhD in computer science, machine learning, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience in performance or power architecture, modeling, or validation (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI networks such as CNN, transformer, and diffusion model architectures (preferred).
• Proficiency with profiling and optimizing complex software (preferred).
• Experience with distributed computing or hardware acceleration (preferred).
• Strong background in data science, statistical methods, and data visualization tools like Tableau (preferred).
