Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer, LLM Post-training (Multilinguality)

What you'll do

• Translate product requirements into specific model capabilities and research goals.
• Improve observed loss patterns across different stages of model training.
• Research methods for high-quality human and synthetic data generation.
• Implement automated data filtering and curriculum learning to improve multilingual response quality.
• Design robust evaluation methodologies to measure model helpfulness, factuality, and utility.
• Develop end-to-end post-training strategies to unlock specific model behaviors.
• Explore novel training strategies and architectural adaptations for large-scale models.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in machine learning and NLP focusing on LLMs, post-training, or reinforcement learning.
• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proficiency in Python and a major deep learning framework such as JAX or PyTorch.
• Experience developing state-of-the-art LLMs that are natively multilingual across various languages.
• Experience training large models at scale with familiarity in distributed training challenges and trade-offs.
• Ability to formulate research problems and implement solutions using Python, Bash, Java, or C/C++.
• Experience designing and deploying real-world, large-scale, user-facing LLM or Machine Translation systems.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration between Research and Product teams.
