Machine Learning Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop and ship machine learning features and products for Apple devices.
• Build and optimize end-to-end ML production pipelines including data collection and model training.
• Create and manage large-scale data pipelines and perform hyperparameter tuning to improve system performance.
• Implement pioneering machine learning algorithms and innovative research-based techniques.
• Optimize models for efficient on-device inference through hardware and software co-design.
• Define metrics, evaluate model performance, and conduct detailed error analysis.
• Create custom datasets and evaluation metrics for novel machine learning tasks.
• Develop software tools to increase the speed and efficiency of experimentation.

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Experience training machine learning models, including those based on deep learning.
• Ability to define metrics, evaluate ML models, and perform error analysis.
• Familiarity with recent advances in deep learning.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience modeling vision problems like object detection, facial recognition, and temporal machine learning.
• Experience building efficient ML models through hardware/software co-design.
• Experience crafting datasets and metrics for novel tasks and shipping ML features to products.
