JOB TITLE: AI Security Researcher Joining the IBM Research team, you will work as a research scientist and engineer to advance fundamental science and build innovative solutions for real-world security challenges. What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and analyze state-of-the-art tools and systems to improve security operations.
  • Apply automated techniques to discover, analyze, triage, and remediate vulnerabilities in software and agents.
  • Research novel techniques to secure agents and future systems against emerging threats.
  • Analyze cybersecurity threats across networks and systems to develop mitigations and countermeasures.
  • Integrate research findings into product development to ensure the inclusion of cutting-edge security features.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to security problems, including anomaly detection and predictive modeling.

What we're looking for

  • Doctorate Degree (preferred)
  • Strong development experience with Python, Rust, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity to analyze software and systems for vulnerabilities, threats, and countermeasures.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams to integrate research results into product development.
  • Experience in discovering, analyzing, and creating proofs for new vulnerabilities (preferred).
  • Experience working with threat intelligence platforms and tools to analyze and mitigate cyber threats (preferred).
  • Exposure to applying machine learning techniques to security problems, including anomaly detection and predictive modeling (preferred).
