As an Advisory AI Architect within the Forward Deployment Engineering (FDE) Unit, you will serve as a hands-on technical leader designing and building AI and GenAI solutions directly with customers. You will own key components of the AI software stack, leading time-bound proof-of-value sprints to move workloads toward stable production on Dell infrastructure while ensuring security and responsible AI practices. Your daily responsibilities include designing scalable architectures, implementing model serving, orchestration, retrieval pipelines, and vector stores, as well as managing cloud-to-on-prem or hybrid migrations. You will utilize modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and infrastructure-as-code to deliver working prototypes. The role focuses on solving the challenge of creating fit-for-purpose architectures that allow customers to operate and extend their own AI solutions after the initial deployment phase concludes.
Design and implement AI solution stacks including model serving, orchestration, retrieval pipelines, and vector stores.
Lead time-bound proof-of-value sprints to demonstrate business outcomes and provide technical recommendations to stakeholders.
Execute migration patterns for AI workloads across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments on Dell infrastructure.
Ensure production readiness by performing monitoring, performance optimization, and issue triage for AI systems.
Develop AI-ready data pipelines in coordination with data specialists to ensure system reliability.
Create documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfers to enable customer teams to manage solutions independently.
Mentor team members on AI architecture patterns, infrastructure capabilities, and responsible AI practices.
What we're looking for
Typically, 6+ years in enterprise architecture, AI/ML platforms, or systems engineering delivering production workloads in large enterprises.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing AI solution components like model serving, orchestration, retrieval pipelines, vector stores, and integrations.
Strong foundation in modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, DevOps/SRE, and infrastructure-as-code.
Experience delivering and operating production AI or other large-scale distributed systems in enterprise environments.
Demonstrated ownership of production systems, including stabilization and performance tuning in high-visibility contexts.
Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs and architectures clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to travel to customer sites and Dell locations as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (preferred); experience with hybrid deployments, AI security, and GenAI/RAG solutions (preferred).
