As an Advanced Quantum Scientist, you will join a team dedicated to improving quantum computing, communications, and sensing capabilities for the Department of Defense. Working directly in customer laboratory environments, you will perform advanced experiments, study and evaluate complex data sets, and provide direct technical support while mentoring teammates. The role requires expertise in the theory and experimentation of quantum materials or qubit control, as well as skills in data collection, manipulation, and analysis. You must be able to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Preferred qualifications include experience with low and room temperature qubit measurements, MKS, quantum algorithms, ion trapping, superconducting circuits, photonics, optical readout, coherent control of spin qubits, electrical readout, or CMOS integration. The work focuses on solving critical challenges in the field of quantum information science.
Conduct advanced experiments in quantum computing, communications, and sensing for the DoD.
Provide direct quantum support within customer laboratory environments.
Collect, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to evaluate experimental results.
Recommend technical changes and alternative solutions based on data analysis.
Communicate complex quantum concepts to diverse audiences through written and verbal reports.
Perform research and experimentation involving quantum materials or qubit control.
What we're looking for
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Experience with theory and experimentation of quantum materials or qubit control.
Experience handling, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets.
Experience evaluating and interpreting experimental data.
Ability to convey complex concepts to a vast audience both written and verbally.
Ability to demonstrate authorship of scientific publications on quantum materials or qubit control.
5+ years of laboratory experience, leadership experience, specific technical knowledge (e.g., ion trapping, superconducting circuits), or a Doctorate degree (preferred).
