As an Advanced Engineering Technician, you will join a technical team to support engineering activities including the design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, or specialized test equipment. You will interpret engineering drawings and schematics while constructing, debugging, troubleshooting, calibrating, and testing various tools and systems. Your daily work involves conducting statistically based experiments to define process parameters, designing basic tooling for unique tasks, and analyzing data to identify cause-effect relationships. The role requires proficiency with fabrication tools, hand tools, electronic test equipment, and the ability to build cables for marine environments. You will solve complex problems in cyber, RF, undersea, and interstellar domains using advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native, and Quantum Physics.

What you'll do

Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics to support design and assembly activities.
Construct, modify, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate, and test various tools, equipment, and systems.
Conduct and document statistically based experiments to define specific process parameters.
Implement and document complex solutions for continuous process improvement.
Design and construct basic tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks.
Analyze data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommend technical resolutions.
Fabricate complex hardware, including cables and connectors for marine environments.
Install and test shipboard equipment using technical documentation and electronic test equipment.

What we're looking for

An Associate's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Proficiency in using fabrication tools and ability to fabricate complex hardware is required.
Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory is required.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics is required.
Ability to construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, and test various tools, equipment, and systems is required.
