Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division seeks a Product Owner to join their Workload Automation team in Plano, TX. This role involves collaborating closely with R&D teams to deliver enhancements and new capabilities for workload automation programs used by large enterprises worldwide. The Product Owner acts as the bridge between Product Managers and development teams, translating high-level strategic goals into actionable user stories and enablers while ensuring alignment on acceptance criteria and delivery timelines. Key responsibilities include maintaining a prioritized backlog, facilitating customer engagement, and managing cross-team dependencies. Ideal candidates have experience in Agile product ownership, stakeholder management, and a foundational understanding of the mainframe ecosystem, including z/OS, TSO/ISPF, JCL, and workload schedulers like CA 7 or Jobtrac.
Break down high-level strategic goals into concrete outcomes and actionable user stories.
Maintain a prioritized backlog of work items aligned with the product strategy.
Refine backlog items with R&D teams to ensure sufficient detail for development.
Coordinate with other Product Owners and cross-functional roles throughout development.
Independently resolve complex project issues and challenges within the team.
Lead customer engagement efforts, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions accordingly.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of related experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years.
Proven ability to own and prioritize product backlogs in Agile environments.
Experience breaking down complex technical requirements into actionable User Stories.
Demonstrated leadership influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Expertise in managing diverse stakeholder relationships, including customers and engineering.
Strong interpersonal skills bridging R&D engineering and business-oriented Product Managers.
Direct experience with mainframe schedulers or Workload Automation products preferred.
