What you'll do

  • Independently produces aerial and underground route designs for telecommunications networks.
  • Determines splice locations, closure types, and fiber-management architecture for distribution segments.
  • Prepares cost estimates and performs optical link-budget calculations for network installations.
  • Conducts field verification of route conditions, pole loading, clearances, and ground conditions.
  • Ensures accurate as-built records are captured in the GIS/network inventory system.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; OR Associate’s with 2 years relevant experience; OR HS diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required for all positions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of communications technologies and OSP plant design (Telecom Consultant - Grade 7).
  • Solid-level knowledge of communications technologies, inter-networking principles, and OSP engineering (Telecom Consultant Sr - Grade 8).
  • Experience in using GIS/CAD tools like AutoCAD, MicroStation, Esri ArcGIS for route design.
  • Ability to analyze network performance, troubleshoot OSP failures, and provide resolutions.
