As a Systems Quality Engineer - Accessory Ecosystem, you will join the team responsible for validating the seamless interaction between Apple products and various accessories and power sources. You will solve complex technical problems regarding power negotiation, Type-C specifications, and firmware behavior to ensure reliable connectivity across multiple product lines before they reach the consumer market.

What you'll do

Own the full quality lifecycle of projects from early prototypes through final release.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for device, accessory, and power source interactions.
Identify and investigate functional, interoperability, and power failures to ensure resolution by relevant teams.
Build and maintain automated testing and analysis tools to improve team capabilities.
Review automation code to ensure scalability and maintainable coverage as projects grow.
Present quality risks and customer impact data to leadership using telemetry and statistical analysis.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of industry experience developing test automation or analysis tooling in Python or C/C++.
Experience with QA methodology, test planning, and execution for hardware or consumer electronics products.
Experience with hardware protocol-level validation or firmware validation (e.g., USB, PCIe, I2C, SPI).
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Experience reviewing others' code and guiding less-experienced engineers on design and quality (preferred).
Understanding of USB-PD power negotiation, Type-C specifications, and port controller firmware behavior (preferred).
Experience using AI tooling for automation and analysis with the judgment to catch errors (preferred).
