TL;DR · System Software Engineer, CUDA Chips

As a System Software Engineer - CUDA Chips, you will join the team responsible for the CUDA driver, a core component used to accelerate general-purpose computation on GPUs across domains like deep learning, scientific computation, and autonomous vehicles. You will be involved in all stages of development, from pre-silicon simulation and emulation to silicon bringup and final feature deployment. Your daily work involves developing software for multiple operating systems, owning CUDA enablement for new silicon architectures, and defining improvements to the CUDA APIs and programming model. The role requires proficiency in C, parallel programming, and multithreaded programs. You must possess a deep understanding of computer system architectures, including memory hierarchy and interrupts, while utilizing skills in kernel mode development and interacting with hardware components to stabilize features for new chips and systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop and debug CUDA driver software for GPU hardware and mobile system-on-chip devices.
  • Develop software on pre-silicon environments using simulation and emulation tools.
  • Drive the enablement of CUDA features for new silicon and hardware architectures.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to stabilize and productize features for new chips.
  • Architect and implement new features while managing the bring-up of CUDA on new hardware.
  • Define improvements to CUDA APIs and programming models across multiple development teams.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code for multiple operating systems.

What we're looking for

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant systems software development experience.
  • Strong C programming skills and knowledge of parallel programming.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer system architectures.
  • Experience with operating system interfaces for threads, process control, and virtual memory.
  • Experience writing and debugging multithreaded programs.
  • Understanding of system level architecture, such as interconnects, memory hierarchy, interrupts, and memory-mapped IO (preferred).
  • Knowledge of memory coherence/consistency models, kernel mode development, Windows/Linux/macOS driver development, C++, or CUDA experience (preferred).
