The SWE Engineering Program Manager - Strategic Data Solutions joins the Strategic Data Solutions team to support the SDS Software Engineering group. This role involves establishing strategy, driving prioritization of engineering work, and managing programs from inception through delivery while maintaining alignment across technical teams and business stakeholders. The manager will coordinate engineering work that supports decisioning across all lines of business, manage business-critical metrics, and mitigate risks in ambiguous situations. Key responsibilities include building relationships with senior leadership, improving processes, and translating technical details into executive storytelling. Candidates should possess a degree in an analytical or technical field and experience leading large, cross-functional projects. The role requires skills in data analysis, machine learning, and engineering management systems to solve complex problems involving the protection, optimization, and empowerment of internal operations.
Establish and drive the prioritization of engineering work based on roadmap vision, cost, and risk.
Communicate strategy, success metrics, and progress reports to both technical teams and executive leadership.
Lead programs from inception through delivery while maintaining alignment between engineering and business stakeholders.
Manage and propose business-critical metrics in partnership with technical teams to ensure operational health.
Identify and resolve complex technical challenges by diving into project details and critical data.
Preempt and mitigate business and technical risks while providing structure to ambiguous situations.
Design and maintain engineering management systems including intake workflows, prioritization frameworks, and reporting cadences.
What we're looking for
BS in any analytical, quantitative, or technical field such as engineering, math, computer science, finance, analytics, or statistics.
10 years of experience structuring and leading large, cross-functional, technical or analytical projects/programs.
Experience leading business discovery, simplifying problems, extracting key information, and proposing innovative analytic approaches.
Proven ability to drive change through positive influence of co-workers, leadership, and business partners.
Ability to learn and provide in-depth evaluations of complex engineering and analytic issues.
Expert at using data to present, advocate for, and prioritize among solutions.
Clear, confident communicator who can adapt between technical detail and VP storytelling.
Experience in engineering, data analysis, machine learning, or operations (preferred); experience designing management systems or coordinating across matrixed organizations (preferred).
