The Staff Software QA Engineer joins the FortiSwitch Team to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans from functional specifications. This role involves executing test cases for functional, scaling, throughput, stress, and soak testing while finding, isolating, documenting, and tracking bugs through resolution. You will develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate products, assist in customer issue diagnosis, and engage in live troubleshooting sessions. Key responsibilities include collaborating with developers to ensure defect reproduction and creating team training documentation. Required skills include proficiency in Windows, Linux, and Unix systems, along with experience in Python, Java, or Perl. You must possess strong knowledge of Networking Technology including Layer 2, 3, and 4 protocols, Security Firewall concepts, Voice over IP, and using Spirent or Ixia traffic generators.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and execute test plans based on functional specifications.
Execute functional, scaling, throughput, stress, and soak testing across all system areas.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate all product aspects.
Identify, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through to final resolution.
Diagnose and resolve customer issues through live troubleshooting sessions.
Create documentation and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.

What we're looking for

At least 3 years of experience related to testing/automation.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Strong knowledge of Networking Technology including Layer 2, 3, and 4 protocols and network system testing.
Knowledge of Security Firewall, such as firewall policy and IPsec Tunnel.
Proficient in using Windows/Linux/Unix systems for daily work.
Experience in development using script programming languages such as Python, Java, or Perl.
Experience in using Spirent or Ixia traffic generator.
Knowledge of Voice over IP (VoIP).
GUI test experience is a plus (preferred).
Knowledge in virtualization and Cloud environment is a plus (preferred).
