The VDSE Chassis Staff Feature Strategist is a senior technical leader within the Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Controls team at General Motors, responsible for overseeing the development and release of vehicle dynamics state estimation (VDSE) features across various vehicle programs. This role involves developing and maintaining calibration/integration plans that align with GM’s VIP and SDV architecture, ensuring high-quality delivery in line with program milestones and customer performance targets. The Strategist will work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, calibrators, and test specialists to coordinate the rollout of new features, manage verification plans, and address any issues that arise during development or production phases. What you'll do
Develop and maintain a calibration/integration plan for VDSE features.
Track and communicate key deliverable dates for each program milestone.
Coordinate with teams to address development or production issues.
Ensure VDSE functions meet the needs of other domain areas.
Monitor and cascade information on upcoming changes in functional areas.
Develop and own verification plans for VDSE features.
Provide clear feature/function deliverables to the calibration team.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls, or related field.
7+ years of experience in chassis controls, vehicle dynamics, state estimation, or embedded controls within automotive applications.
Proven experience in calibration planning and execution for complex multi-feature controllers.
Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, IMU/WSS-based state estimation, and chassis sensing technologies.
Experience with PRTS/issue management and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Comfortable working with SDV-style toolchains and infrastructure (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Excellent communication, organization, and technical leadership skills.
