As a Staff Engineer for Customer Onboarding at Adyen, you will lead the architectural evolution of the merchant onboarding process into a seamless and high-velocity activation layer. Your role involves designing systems that use large language models (LLMs) to interpret merchant documents and automate complex KYC/Risk mapping, ensuring compliance while minimizing time-to-value. You will drive technical standards for global consistency, mentor engineers, and collaborate with the Director of Engineering and Product teams to shape strategic roadmaps. Key responsibilities include building resilient, distributed systems that handle high concurrency and secure data handling, as well as developing production-grade interfaces powered by LLMs. Proficiency in Java, experience with API architectures, and a deep understanding of security-by-design are essential, along with the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and align diverse teams on technical vision.
