Senior Software Engineer, Siri User Experience Metrics and Data

What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable, reliable data systems to transform raw data into actionable insights.
• Build the data backbone for Siri's regression detection system to monitor product quality.
• Develop large-scale data systems and ETL pipelines for product metrics and big data analysis.
• Define and own critical user-facing metrics to identify and alert on quality issues.
• Build scalable reporting tools and intuitive dashboards to inform product decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and gather requirements from stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
• Follow engineering best practices including unit testing, CI/CD, documentation, monitoring, and alerting.
• Maintain data and ML workflows using orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow.

What we're looking for

• Have 7 years of development experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Have 5 years of development experience with a PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Possess expert knowledge of one or more object-oriented programming languages like Java, Objective-C, C++, Scala, or Swift.
• Possess expert knowledge of one or more scripting languages like Python, Ruby, or Bash.
• Have experience working with Spark or other distributed data technologies like Hadoop, Presto, Flink, or Druid.
• Have expertise in developing big data systems and ETL for product metrics and large data volume analysis.
• Have knowledge of SQL to analyze data, derive insights, and drive improvements.
• Have leadership experience as a technical lead for complex, cross-functional development projects.
• Have experience supporting the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle (preferred).
• Have hands-on experience building and maintaining data and ML workflows using orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow (preferred).
• Have experience working in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred).
