Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Applied Science

What you'll do

• Prototype new model architectures for the Pinterest Canvas text-to-image generative model.
• Implement and develop large-scale generative models to power production visualization features.
• Develop core multimodal text and image embeddings to condition generative models.
• Collect and curate relevant visual training data for RLHF and targeted fine-tuning.
• Research and brainstorm the company's overall visual generative strategy based on current research papers.
• Publish and publicize research findings through conference submissions, blog posts, and other media.
• Mentor junior researchers and interns within the Pinterest Labs organization.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must have an M.S. or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Applicants must have 5+ years of industry experience in computer vision.
• Experience working with generative computer vision models is required.
• Experience with various forms of diffusion models is preferred.
• Publications at top ML conferences are preferred.
• Experience using AI coding assistants like Cursor, Copilot, or Codex is preferred.
• Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation, analysis, and engineering workflows is preferred.
