Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Applied Science

What you'll do

• Prototype new model architectures for the Pinterest Canvas text-to-image generative model.
• Implement and develop large-scale generative models to power production visualization features.
• Develop core multimodal text and image embeddings to condition generative models.
• Collect and curate relevant visual training data for RLHF and targeted fine-tuning.
• Research and brainstorm the company's overall visual generative strategy based on current research papers.
• Publish and publicize research findings through conference submissions, blog posts, and other media.
• Mentor junior researchers and interns within the Pinterest Labs organization.

What we're looking for

• Must have an M.S. or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must have 5+ years of industry experience in computer vision.
• Must have hands-on experience working with generative computer vision models and diffusion text-to-image models.
• Must possess independent model implementation skills.
• Ability to read research papers and contribute to the company's visual generative strategy.
• Experience publishing work at top ML conferences is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants like Cursor, Copilot, or Codex is preferred.
• Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for data exploration and engineering workflows is preferred.
