As a Sr. Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack/Big Data, you will join the Corporate Technology Risk Asset Services team to build and deliver secure, scalable, and market-leading technology products. You will provide technical guidance to teams and vendors while developing high-quality production code, reviewing peer code, and driving the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices. Your daily work involves managing the software development life cycle, influencing product design, and ensuring operational stability. You must possess advanced skills in Java, J2ee, React, Angular, Relational Databases, and SQL. The role requires hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Spring boot, Spring cloud, GIT, bitbucket, and Maven. You will solve complex technical challenges by developing microservices and REST APIs while ensuring responsible AI use and application resiliency.

What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and external vendors.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through key decision-making.
Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in specific technical areas of focus.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices within the engineering community.
Coach senior engineers on compliant usage patterns and controls for responsible AI in engineering workflows.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced technical skills in one or more programming languages including Java, J2ee, React, or Angular.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Experience with Relational Databases, SQL, GIT, Bitbucket, and Maven.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Practical cloud native experience with AWS services, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
Experience with development of microservices and REST APIs.
Experience in Java 8/11/17, Object-Oriented design & analysis (preferred).
Knowledge of Big Data technical stack preferably with Spark (preferred).
Experience with Unix, shell scripts, and Python (preferred).
