The Sr Lead Security Engineer - Email joins the CTC team to lead the strategy, architecture, and lifecycle management of enterprise email security platforms. This role involves driving the roadmap for secure email gateways, phishing protection, threat detection, encryption, and data loss prevention. The engineer will lead complex modernization initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and mentor engineering teams while ensuring solutions align with regulatory and resiliency requirements. Key technical skills include expertise in SPF, DKIM, and DMARC standards, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. The position requires proficiency in programming or automation languages to perform threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing. The work focuses on protecting critical business communications against phishing, business email compromise, and emerging email-borne threats within a highly regulated environment.
Lead the strategy, architecture, and lifecycle management of enterprise email security platforms.
Define the roadmap for phishing protection, threat detection, encryption, and data loss prevention.
Serve as the technical authority for email security architecture to ensure regulatory and resiliency compliance.
Lead complex engineering initiatives from concept to deployment, including migrations and platform transformations.
Drive incident response and remediation for phishing, business email compromise, and malicious campaigns.
Establish metrics and KPIs to demonstrate platform effectiveness and threat reduction.
Manage vendor relationships and drive accountability for product roadmaps and contractual commitments.
Leverage enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate security analysis and control validation.
What we're looking for
10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including significant experience leading enterprise email security programs and engineering teams.
Deep expertise in email security technologies, including secure email gateways, phishing protection, threat detection, encryption, and authentication standards.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating enterprise-scale security architectures within highly regulated environments.
Advanced knowledge of software engineering, application development, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Strong experience with threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, risk analysis, and security control validation.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming or automation languages to solve complex technical problems independently.
Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives and communicate technical strategies to senior leadership.
Experience securing Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, or other enterprise email platforms (preferred).
CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or equivalent industry certifications (preferred).
Experience within financial services, banking, or another highly regulated industry (preferred).
