Software Microservices Platform Engineering Lead, AI & Agentic AI joins the DevNet team to build and operate cloud-native services and AI capabilities for engineers and customers. This role involves developing and operating secure, scalable microservice applications on AWS and Kubernetes while ensuring reliability and observability under load. The engineer will integrate generative AI features including LLM integration, retrieval augmented generation, tool and function calling, and agentic workflows into production environments. Key technical requirements include proficiency in Python, Java, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C++, along with experience in REST APIs and distributed applications. Candidates should be skilled in DevSecOps practices to automate testing and monitoring while implementing security guardrails for AI systems. The role focuses on moving agentic AI from the demo stage into production-ready products using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.
Build and operate secure, scalable microservice applications on AWS and Kubernetes.
Develop and integrate AI capabilities including LLM integration and retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
Implement agentic workflows using tools like LangChain or LangGraph to move AI into production.
Apply a security-first approach across application, API, container, identity, and data layers.
Automate testing, delivery, and monitoring through modern DevSecOps practices.
Troubleshoot complex production issues from identification through to final resolution.
Maintain ownership of service reliability and observability for all products built.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years experience, Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 2+ years of related experience.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience using Python, Java, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C++.
3+ years of experience developing and operating microservices, REST APIs, or distributed applications on a public cloud platform like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
2+ years of experience deploying and operating containerized applications in Kubernetes in a production environment.
1+ year of hands-on experience building applications with generative AI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, or tool/function calling.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (preferred).
Experience developing agentic workflows, using frameworks like LangGraph or LangChain, and implementing AI security and governance (preferred).
Track record of mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams to deliver customer outcomes (preferred).
