As a Software Engineering Technical Leader - Cisco IQ, you will serve as an architectural anchor for the team, shaping the vision and implementation of next-generation intelligent enterprise applications. To succeed, you must possess expertise in Python, Node, Go, or Java, along with experience in LangGraph, structured tool calling, and failure handling for LLM-backed applications. You will utilize contract-first API design and schema modeling using OpenAPI, TypeSpec, GraphQL, or gRPC to solve complex technical challenges within the domain of intelligent, scalable enterprise software and automated business processes.

What you'll do

Design and lead the hands-on implementation of next-generation intelligent enterprise applications.
Act as the architectural anchor for embedding autonomous and semi-autonomous agentic capabilities into business workflows.
Develop contract-first, spec-driven architectures connecting application logic and user interfaces to reasoning models via Model Context Protocol.
Build LLM-backed applications featuring agent orchestration, structured tool calling, and robust failure handling.
Design and manage cloud-agnostic, distributed architectures across AWS, GCP, and private cloud environments.
Translate high-level technical visions into actionable, long-term business outcomes for cross-functional stakeholders.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
12+ years of experience in back-end software architecture and core development using Python, Node, Go, or Java.
Experience building and shipping complex enterprise or SaaS applications.
Production experience with LLM-backed applications including agent orchestration, structured tool calling, and failure handling.
Experience with contract-first API design and schema modeling using OpenAPI, TypeSpec, GraphQL, or gRPC.
Domain expertise in networking protocols, large-scale infrastructure management, and system-level design (preferred).
Proficiency in designing and managing cloud-agnostic, distributed architectures across AWS, GCP, and private cloud environments (preferred).
Exceptional communication skills and executive presence to influence stakeholders and translate technical vision into business outcomes (preferred).
