As a Senior Consultant-level Software Engineer on Visa’s Technology and Operations team in Highlands Ranch, CO, you will design and develop scalable, secure systems that impact billions of people globally, setting internal standards for reusability and efficiency. Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality software solutions across various Visa offerings such as Payment Services and Real-Time Payments, while also enhancing existing products through code reviews and automation improvements. You will leverage technologies like Python, Java, C++, PHP, Angular, React, Kubernetes, and Docker to build robust back-end systems for diverse customer segments including merchants and government entities. This role requires expertise in database management, API design, data structures, and system integration, as well as experience working within agile environments and contributing to product quality improvements through telemetry analysis and process optimization.
Design and develop scalable, secure software systems impacting a large global user base.
Propose and implement automation to enhance system efficiency and scalability.
Enhance existing software by modifying code to align with design specifications and security practices.
Lead code/design reviews and participate in on-call rotations for incident responses.
Engage with product engineering teams to recommend scalable improvements aligned with customer objectives.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of experience.
Proficient in back-end programming languages like Python, Java, C++, PHP.
Expertise in designing and implementing APIs and GUI development across platforms.
Knowledge of database software for maintaining, modifying, and outputting structured data.
Experience with systems integration processes to ensure cohesive functionality.
Skilled in modern web application deployment and familiarity with Angular, React, Kubernetes, Docker.
Collaborative experience with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
