Software Engineer, Smart Cameras

What you'll do

• Build and maintain robust services for cloud video streaming, exports, and cloud storage.
• Design and implement high-performance APIs and backend services integrated into the Meraki Dashboard.
• Develop scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-availability solutions on AWS.
• Contribute to full-stack development including UI components and firmware interactions as needed.
• Own services from design through deployment, including testing, instrumentation, and production observability.
• Drive resolution of complex production issues and author root-cause analyses to improve system resilience.
• Partner with Product Managers to define requirements, architecture, and long-term project roadmaps.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience in production Go, TypeScript, or an equivalent statically-typed programming language.
• Experience in a scripting language like Ruby (preferred) or Python.
• Experience in backend software including REST-ful API design and relational databases.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience applying AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate velocity and code quality.
• Full-stack development experience, specifically with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines, modern observability stacks, video streaming protocols, and advanced AWS services (preferred).
