As a Software Engineer at Microsoft’s CoreAI organization, you will join the Responsible AI team within the Foundry group to build scalable and sustainable customer-facing AI services. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based services with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance, while collaborating closely with engineers, scientists, and product managers. You will participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, from coding and testing to supporting services in production, adhering to best practices such as code reviews and telemetry usage. The role requires expertise in languages like C++, Java, or Python, along with experience in designing large-scale cloud services and machine learning model operations. Additionally, familiarity with AI safety platforms, inference systems, and deployment automation is preferred, as you will contribute to building seamless product experiences that address critical Responsible AI challenges at scale.

What we're looking for
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field with coding experience.
Bachelor's Degree in CS or related field plus 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
Experience designing and delivering highly available, large-scale cloud services.
Proficiency in machine learning model development, release, and operations.
Strong knowledge of software architecture and mature DevOps practices.
Experience using AI tools and practices across the SDLC.
Expertise in safety and governance platforms for AI models and agents.
