Software Engineer III, Android

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain Android features using Kotlin and Java for various devices and OS versions.
• Lead the implementation of complex initiatives including UI flows, data management, and error handling.
• Integrate backend services via REST/GraphQL while ensuring secure authentication and local storage.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, instrumentation, and UI tests to improve app stability.
• Optimize application performance by reducing crashes and tuning for ANR and startup times.
• Drive CI/CD improvements including linting, static analysis, and automated release workflows.
• Utilize approved AI-assisted tools to accelerate refactoring, test generation, and documentation.
• Implement modular architecture and shared libraries to scale the Android codebase across teams.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
• Strong hands-on Android development experience with Kotlin, Android SDK, and modern architecture patterns like MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Experience building UI using Jetpack Compose and/or XML, including accessibility and responsive layout practices.
• Experience with mobile testing frameworks for unit, instrumentation, and UI tests to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience implementing or improving CI/CD pipelines for mobile builds, quality gates, and release processes.
• Disciplined experience using AI coding assistants with verification and secure usage practices.
• Experience with modularization, shared libraries, and scaling Android codebases across teams (preferred).
• Experience with performance profiling, stability tooling, and mobile security best practices (preferred).
