The Software Engineer Full Stack / Backend I (Full Time) - United States joins a high-velocity engineering team building Application Performance Monitoring and full-stack observability platforms. This role involves developing and shipping end-to-end features and bug fixes for high-scale Java backend microservices and modern React frontend applications. Key responsibilities include participating in on-call rotations to resolve backend issues, collaborating with Product Owners and UX designers to translate requirements into scalable solutions, and authoring technical documentation. The position requires proficiency in Java, Python, or Go, along with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks. Candidates should also possess skills in SQL, NoSQL, RESTful or GraphQL APIs, and Kubernetes. The work focuses on providing flawless observability experiences through distributed tracing, cloud telemetry, and metrics platforms.
Develop and ship end-to-end features and bug fixes for Java backend microservices.
Build and deploy high-performance user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
Participate in scheduled on-call rotations to diagnose and resolve APM backend issues and customer escalations.
Utilize AI-assisted development practices and automated workflows to increase code velocity and efficiency.
Translate complex observability requirements into scalable technical solutions with Product and UX teams.

What we're looking for
Meet one of the following: a Bachelor's degree with 0 years experience; a development program with 1 year experience; or a high school diploma with 2 years experience.
Qualifying education or experience must be in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrate experience developing backend services and applications using Java (or Python / Go).
Have hands-on experience building interactive web applications and user interfaces using React (or modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks).
Experience with modern AI-assisted development tools, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), or developer sub-agents (preferred).
Prior exposure to Splunk Observability Cloud, APM, distributed tracing, cloud telemetry, or metrics platforms (preferred).
Practical experience designing SQL and NoSQL data stores, integrating RESTful or GraphQL APIs, and deploying containerized services in Kubernetes (preferred).
Familiarity with frontend visualization libraries like D3.js and building complex, high-performance interactive dashboards (preferred).
