Software Engineer Entry Level

What you'll do

• Develop new software components using Java, C, C++, and Python to meet program requirements.
• Integrate COTS tools, open-source products, and API-driven solutions into existing systems.
• Containerize applications and deploy them using tools such as Docker or Podman.
• Build multi-tier software solutions including database design, authentication, and data capture.
• Perform thorough unit testing of software components to prepare for large-scale system integration.
• Conduct component integration to ensure end-to-end functionality before formal testing begins.
• Research and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption by the Navy.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Engineering, Science, or Math.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
• Develop new software components in Java, C, C++, and Python to meet program needs (preferred).
• Integrate COTS tools, including open-source products and API-driven integration efforts (preferred).
• Containerize existing applications and deploy them using a tool like Docker or Podman (preferred).
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, configuration management, and good coding practices (preferred).
• Experience with Linux systems, shell scripting, and containerization technologies (preferred).
